Group work tags
During exercises, each group will receive a set of group work tags. These tags help coordinate support, reduce interruptions, and make collaboration more transparent.
How to use the tags:
🟢 Green (all good) Your group is progressing well. No support needed. → We will not interrupt you.
🟡 Yellow (in progress / some difficulty) You are experiencing challenges but are still working through them. → We are aware and may check in if needed.
🔴 Red (need help) Your group is stuck and requires assistance. → We will come to support you as soon as possible.
Why we use this system:
- It avoids long waiting times (no need to raise hands).
- It allows instructors to prioritize support efficiently.
- It reduces unnecessary interruptions when groups are making good progress.
- It creates a clear, shared understanding of group status.
Group formation:
Each tag also includes a number and color:
- The number indicates the intended group size.
- Groups are formed by matching numbers within the same color.
Before distributing tags, make sure to select only those that match the intended group size. For example, for 10 students working in groups of 2, select tags labeled with group size 2 and numbers 1–5. Remove all other tags beforehand. Otherwise, some students may end up in incomplete groups without matching partners.
This enables quick and flexible group formation, especially in larger classes.
