Update configuration

Use the complete maintenance workflow to refresh the repository and installed software before reapplying and auditing the workstation configuration:

make update

In order, this command:

  1. runs git pull --ff-only on a branch, or preserves a detached checkout and prints a notice;
  2. refreshes Fedora packages with sudo dnf upgrade --refresh;
  3. refreshes Flatpak applications with flatpak update;
  4. runs the same make configure workflow described in Apply configuration; and
  5. runs make audit.

The update stops when a step fails. It does not switch a detached checkout to a branch or newer tag. Fedora and Flatpak prompts remain interactive so that you can review consequential changes.

Review the final play recap and audit output, then confirm that the checkout is clean:
