GitHub

GitHub is the remote collaboration and recovery location for pushed Git repositories. Store source code, documentation, text-based projects, and versioned configuration in repositories under a local directory such as ~/repos.

Commit or stash important work and push branches that must not remain local-only. GitHub does not back up uncommitted work, ignored files, local-only branches, or unrelated workstation folders.
